Go to Amazon and get yourself some holiday tunes.

The role of the teacher in the age of Google
Innovation in education needs to be both broadly addressed and carefully focused. Technology in education needs to be a transformative tool, not merely additive.

Obligatory Summer Slide Show (from Flickr)
I was playing with Flickr tonite and decided to take it one step farther and embed a slideshow of my pictures.
If this doesn't work so well, you can always visit my Flickr Photostream

Arika washing cattle
This is a test post. I have tied my blog to my flickr photo account. Actually, this picture was taken by Claudette Roulo at the Regional Preview Show last June in DuQuoin, IL. If this works, I no longer have an excuse not to include more pictures in blog posts.

Digital Citizenship
Introduction to Digital Citizenship presented at Moline High School on May 16th 2008. Also includes intro to moodle. This is the entire presentation (showing only the screen). It is 37 minutes in length. The sound is a little low at times, but I think you can hear it if you listen closely.

Printing Reports for Student Led Conferences
To print a report for student led conferences, you should log into your skyward gradebook.
Next, select reports and Progress Detail. You will need to choose a new template and name it. In the video, I created a new template and called it student reports (change date). A new window opens and you can then select the correct quarter (example: Quarter 3). I also checked the option to Display Attendance Totals and Do not Print Assignments Marked as 'No Count' and Do Not Print Assignments Not Posted to Family Access. Next, Click Save. You can then click print -or- to print all of your classes at once, go to the last option and Click on Select Different Classes. Un-check your advisory class and any study halls (or any other classes you don't want to print).
